Petya Buyuklieva - Eurovision 2009 Moscow Team Presentation

Music critics define her as a phenomenon in Bulgarian pop-rock music. She has been greeted with enthusiastic applause everywhere by the audience and the critics. There is no other Bulgarian pop-rock singe who has received 4 Grand Prix award and 25 International award from competitions in many counties. The most prestigious of tem are: Grand Prix ad Golden Medal for unique voice at “The World Championship of Arts”  in Los Angeles in 1998; Grand Prix “Golden Orpheus” in Bulgaria; Grand Prix “Silver Seashell” in Havana; Grand Prix at “Macfest” in Macedonia; Special awards from “Bratislava Lyre”, OIRT “Eight Songs in the Studio”; Tow successive years Petya won the international chart of “Inter France Radio” – Paris for rock music.

The Union of Musical Workers in Bulgaria has awarded “Youth Lyre” to her for raising the prestige of Bulgarian pop-rock music. She was the first pop-rock singer, who received this award.

As a child she played the violin and the piano. Later she finished music school – with subject “Piano” and immediately after that she was accepted and graduated with honors at Bulgarian State Conservatoire – “Pop department” – subject “Singing” and “Piano”.

Even as a student she attracted the attention of the music circles in Bulgaria and Russia, she recorded her first songs and received invitations for pafticipation in concerls and international competitions for pop-rock singers.

She has given concerts in the USA, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Italy, Germany, Canada, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Poland, Spain, Czechoslovakia, Cuba, Romania, Malta, Macedonia, Turkey and others.
She has participated in spectacular concerts singing on the same stage with world-wide famous stars such as: Kairy Minoque, Toto Coutugnio, Jerry Lee Lewis, Kim Wilde, Dionne Warwick and others.

She has sung a duet with Bobby Kimbel - ex vocal of ToTo.

Petya Buyuklieva has been announced many times to be singer number 1 in Bulgaria. She is singer number 1 again this year.

Petya is especially precise about her recording activity. She has produced 10 albums and many compilations. Many of her hits were number 1 in the national radio and television charts. Her shows attract lots of fens with the temperamental atmosphere that she creates as a singer and as a dancer on an equal level with the magnificent show-ballet she works with.

Her inexhaustible creative power and potential bring her success in Bulgaria and on the world stages.
